What happens in Vegas...

We flew into Las Vegas early on Friday morning and caught a cab to our hotel! Last time I was in Vegas, about 15 years ago, I remember it being really hot. Surprisingly it was quite cool (approx 25 degree's Celsius) which was a lovely introduction to the desert!

Tim and I made our way up the strip straight away and walked about half way, stopped for lunch and then walked back to the hotel to lay by the pool for the rest of the afternoon!
That night we went to the "Tournament of Kings" dinner show at Excalibur, which was like a medieval type show with jousting and sword fighting... to fit with the theme, I was quite surprised when they served our dinner without cutlery... apparently eating with your hands is half of the charm! Being tired from our travels we went to bed pretty early that night!

The next day we decided to lay by the pool all day and soak up the desert sun! I doused myself in suntan oil with no SPF, as the sun is so mild here considering America actually HAS an ozone layer! After 2 and a half hours though, my poor little sunburnt legs, nowhere near where they would be had I have been in Perth! Tim was the smart one that covered himself in sunscreen! That night we bought tickets to Criss Angel's (you may recall his show on TV called "Mind Freak") "Believe" show which was a show of illusion! It was really exciting and a little scary too! We had a great time!

The following day we went to the Grand Canyon, but I will save that for the next post, lots to share and plenty of pictures to post!

That night we had dinner with my cousin James and his lovely girlfriend Kerri, they took us to a lovely resturant called the "Sugar factory" don't worry, we didn't eat lollies and cakes for tea.. however, being in America and also in Las Vegas - I'm sure we could have if we wanted to!
Afterwards we walked the strip, saw the fountain tour at the Bellagio, and made our way to a very exclusive night club called "The Bank", which for the average Joe would cost $50 entry fee and that's even if you get in. This is not the case for my cousin James who happens to know everyone and anyone who is anyone! We got in for free!
Afterwards Tim and I walked the strip back to our hotel and enjoyed the sights, sounds and lights of Las Vegas!

On our last day, we walked through the strip again and walked all the way up to the Mandalay Bay hotel and Casino to buy tickets to the Disney musical - The Lion King and then spent the day relaxing in Vegas. That night we went to the show, my goodness, this was the best show we have ever seen! Tim and I both cried through the whole thing it was so good! If any of you get a chance to see it, go and see it! Just brilliant!!
